Like thoughts and emotions physical items have an energy about them. When we live and work in a cluttered space those items can create a type of emotional hoarding that blocks our channels to abundance. By letting go of some of these physical items it is possible to increase the flow of abundance into your lives whether it be more money, harmony or better quality relationships.
The Art of Feng Shui refers to clutter as “postponed decisions and the inability to move forward.’ Our spaces are a physical representation of our state of mind and who we choose to believe we are. By clearing space and letting go of the old it allows us to embrace the new. But what if this is a difficult task?
The relationship you have with your possessions can be interpreted in many ways. There may be negative associations or limiting beliefs attached to certain belongings. Whether it be souvenirs from a painful past or your belief system that keeps you stagnant, these attachments prevent you from re-booting your lifestyle and the ability to create abundance. A process and system is needed that allows you to ruthlessly make room for the better version of yourself.
Step 1 – Be Curious
An interesting exercise is to be curious about the emotional and spiritual sensations of throwing out or giving away objects that you truly believe are no longer serving you. Curiosity will allow insight into what these blockages to abundance are and where they stem from. Particular items may mirror back to you feelings of low self-worth and self-judgement. Perhaps you believe at a core level that you don’t deserve anything of better quality. You may experience a fear of loss and so resist throwing things out. Feelings of guilt may be felt at the prospect of throwing out an unwanted gift. You may find yourself scanning back to lifetime events that signify feelings of lack or unworthiness.
Many of our beliefs about money are inherited and often become the blueprint for what we believe we deserve. It would be natural to behold a scarcity mentality if money was tight growing up and you got told that “money doesn’t grow on trees” if you asked for something new.
Step 2- Ask Yourself These Questions
When the decision to reboot your lifestyle comes, it’s time to declutter. A clear cut approach for abundance needs a system that defies limiting self-beliefs when cleaning out your car, your wallet, your wardrobe, your office and your entire house. To begin the process ask yourself these questions:
“Is this item useful?”
“Does this item make me feel good?’
“Does this item have value?”
“Does this item have a feeling of abundance to it?”
“Am I making do or is there really something better I would like to get?”
After removing all clutter the next step is to get comfortable with the void and become the gatekeeper of your life by only letting in what adds value. You will only receive what you expect so working on your personal development is crucial if you do not want to collect more of the same old clutter.
